The Warehouse Matrix File is used to establish the sequence in which warehouses are displayed on the Serial Number and Roll Search Screens. An optional entry is made for each warehouse, notating which other warehouses should be displayed and in what sequence.
For example, let’s assume you have three warehouses: CHI, DET and STL. Your matrix (search sequence) for CHI might be DET plus STL indicating that the matrix should show CHI, followed by DET, followed by STL. Your matrix for DET might be only CHI. This means that if the customer’s (or workstation) warehouse is DET, the serial number or roll search should display DET followed by CHI and omit STL. Warehouses not in the matrix are omitted from the display. To utilize the warehouse matrix it must be activated for each applicable control panel by entering *MX in the Search Warehouse field. You can also use the Warehouse Matrix File in the Inventory Selection Optimizer (ISO) Program. Use of the Warehouse Matrix File is not mandatory. If you do not want to alter how serial numbers are displayed on your system, you can skip the setup of this file.
On the Create Record window, enter the warehouse codes in order of priority to be used for Serial Number and Roll Search Screens. The Header Warehouse would be searched first followed by the sequence of Warehouses.
