Serial Number Level Pricing and Dimensions

This functionality affects inventory such as area rugs that need information to be stored at the serial number level. All the other parts of the Dancik system recognize and use serial number pricing and dimensions as needed. For example, order entry retrieves the serial number pricing during normal order processing (except when ISO is used).

Assigning Price and Dimension Information at the Serial Number Level during Pre-Receiving

1. Use menu option INB 1 to enter pre-receipts.

2. Enter the necessary information. In the figure below, the item number entered represents an Area Rug (Item Policy code A#)

3. Press Enter to access the receiving screen. Keep in mind, the receiving screen that appears depends on the Policy code of the items being received. The following screens display an item assigned to policy code A#.

In the example shown below, the item is being assigned pricing and dimensions at the serial number level.

Serial-number7.jpg

The Length and Width must be entered as ft.in. In the example above, the length is 20 ft and 11 in. And the width is 4 ft. 6 in.

Enter the price using a decimal point. You can enter up to three characters to the right of the decimal point.

Note:   Only the last entered price and dimension data is stored. For example, if two rugs with the same serial number were entered, but each had a different price the last price entered is the one that is retained. The way around this is to create unique serial numbers for both rugs.

Pre-Receipts for Items other than Area Rug (Item Policy code A#)

Serial number level pricing can also be assigned to items that are not assigned to policy code A#. For example, serialized items with a policy code of A$ can also use the serial number level pricing and dimension features.

4. Press Enter to accept the pre-receipt into the system. When the inventory actually gets received and posted (via menu option INB 5), all other Dancik applications will use the serial number level pricing. For example if serial number WGB1234, entered in the preceding steps, is ordered the pricing entered on the pre-receipt displays on the Order Detail line.
